TRAINING OVERVIEW:

F.A.S.T. Rescue is an approved training provider for the Working at Heights Training in Vaughan, Ontario.

Our Working at Heights Training Program in Vaughan meets the latest Ontario training requirements. This program provides workers with the knowledge required for the safe use and operation of equipment for working at heights.

When students successfully complete the course, they will be able to recognize fall hazards and apply the proper safety measures. The key objective of the course is to teach operators to understand their rights and responsibilities when working at heights, how to work at heights safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements, and how to select, inspect, and use industry-standard personal fall arrest equipment, including a harness and lanyard.

    • How to eliminate the hazard
    • Working alone
    • The Hierarchy of Control Measures
    • Regulations for fall prevention
    • Workplace inspections
  • Fall prevention, including
    • Guardrails, protective covers, warning barriers (bump lines) and travel restraint systems
  • Fall protection systems and personal protective equipment. The student will learn about
    • Fall prevention systems
    • Personal fall protection equipment and components
    • Selection and inspection
    • Set up of fall protection equipment and anchor points
    • Emergency rescue procedures
    • Suspension trauma
  • Ladders and other access equipment. This section will review
    • Ladders, scaffolds, powered elevating work platforms and suspended access equipment
  • Workplace specific training

Certificate Granted

Breaks and Lunch

Several 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break will be scheduled. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements for lunch.
