Worker Awareness Training Overview
Ontario requires that all workers complete Worker Awareness Training to ensure they understand their rights and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). F.A.S.T. Rescue’s Worker Awareness Training is designed to provide employees with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify and report hazards, understand their roles in workplace safety, and protect themselves and others from workplace injuries.
This course is essential for workers across all industries, helping them stay informed about workplace safety regulations and empowering them to contribute to a safer, more compliant workplace.
Course Content
Our Worker Awareness Training covers the following key topics:
- Understanding Workplace Rights and Responsibilities: Learn about the rights and responsibilities of workers and employers under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Recognizing and Reporting Hazards: Understand how to identify potential workplace hazards and the proper procedures for reporting them to supervisors or safety committees.
- Roles of Health and Safety Committees: Gain insight into the role of Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) and how they contribute to workplace safety.
- Employer and Worker Duties: Learn about the legal obligations of both employers and employees to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Incident Response: Understand the steps to take if an injury or incident occurs at work, including reporting procedures and follow-up.
Certification and Requirements
- Duration: 1-2 hours of online or classroom training.
- Completion Requirements: Full participation and successful completion of the course.
- Certification: Participants will receive a certificate of completion, meeting the mandatory training requirements for Ontario workplaces.
