Working at Heights Training Made Easy

WHY WAH TRAINING MATTERS
Falls are one of the leading causes of serious workplace injuries and fatalities in Canada.
According to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), most fall-related incidents are preventable with proper hazard awareness and safety procedures in place.
WAH training equips workers with the knowledge and skills they need to:
- Identify fall hazards before beginning work
- Understand and use fall protection equipment correctly
- Conduct pre-use inspections of ladders, harnesses, lanyards, and anchors
- Follow safety protocols and rescue procedures
- Comply with applicable provincial and federal safety legislation
WHAT THE LAW SAYS ABOUT WAH TRAINING
Across Canada, legislation mandates fall protection training for workers exposed to fall hazards of 3 meters (10 feet) or more.
In Ontario, for example:
- WAH training is mandatory for any worker on construction projects where they may be exposed to fall hazards.
- Training must meet Ministry of Labour standards and be delivered by an approved provider.
- Workers must renew certification every 3 years.
Other provinces—including British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec—have similar laws tailored to their jurisdictions. Federally regulated industries must also comply with the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COHSR Part XII).
