Course Overview
This module provides learners with the knowledge and skills they need to work safely. Safety Basics provides learners with a basic overview of health and safety legislation and regulations in their province and introduces them to the concept of health and safety.
By completing this module, learners will gain an understanding in the essential elements and day to day functions of a health and safety program, the internal responsibility system, common workplace hazards, preventing workplace injury, reporting accidents and incidents and how to actively participate in their own health and safety.

ASSESSMENT
Testing conducted throughout this course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% on the final test must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course if the pass mark is not achieved.
