Prince Edward Island Safety Regulations are based on the type of workplace and the number of employees in the workplace. Please read through the safety regulations to determine the type of First Aid training and safety equipment required for your workplace. There are a variety of first aid kits recommended for all different size work places. Download the Requirements here.

PEI is now accepting the CSA Standard for First Aid Kits.  Employers have until March 6, 2022 to adapt to the new changes.  To order the CSA Standard Kits, click here.

  • Emergency First Aid & CPR certificate
  • 20+ employees (low-hazard workplace)
  • 20-100 employees (other than low-hazard workplace)
Kit No. 3
  • Low Hazard Work – Emergency First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Other than Low Hazard Work – Standard First Aid & CPR certificate
  • More than 100 workers conducting work “other than low hazard”
First Aid Room
  • Low Hazard Work – Emergency First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Other than Low Hazard Work – Advanced First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Vehicle or Boat used solely to transport more than one worker to and from a workplace (seating capacity is 6 or less)
Kit No. 1
  • See the training requirements above
  • Vehicle or Boat used solely to transport more than one worker to and from a workplace (seating capacity is 7 or more)
