Dean Turner
President/Instructor Trainer

Dean has an extensive background in First Aid, complimented by years of community service and consulting experience. Dean began his career as a First Aid instructor with the Department of National Defence, where he spent 12 years training soldiers for overseas duties. His extensive experience with the Canadian Red Cross and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada gives F.A.S.T. Rescue it's solid base in the safety training realm.

Shyamala Nathan-Turner
Vice-President/Sales & Marketing
Shyamala has been in the Sales & Marketing field for over 15 years. Working with several national companies in Canada, Shyamala brings solid experience in training, sales, presentation and coaching skills. Shyamala focuses on business development and marketing for F.A.S.T. Rescue.
Melanie Malijan
Finance Department

Melanie has a degree in Economics and comes to F.A.S.T. Rescue with a great background of work experiences ranging from Office Administrator to Accounting. Her knowledge of a variety of accounting systems and her experiences in working with other industries allows us to incorporate the best systems for our business. Her experience, team work and dedication makes Melanie a great asset to F.A.S.T. Rescue.

Gillian Musaib-Ali
Sales Department
Gillian is an energetic, results oriented Senior Sales Executive. She joined the team at FAST-Rescue in 2011. Gillian’s current role as Business Development Manager is a result of her extensive experience in all facets of sales. This includes a wide range of front line experience within Fortune 500 companies. Gillian is a key contributor to new business while developing strategic areas of growth with existing customers. Her consultative and organized approach to problem solving and growth of the business makes Gillian a valuable member of the FAST-Rescue team. Gillian is an active volunteer in the community. Some of her areas of interest include the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Training Department

Giffer Maxius
Giffer has more than 10 years of combined experience in the field and of Sales and Administration. She recently completed a Customer Service Strategies program and holds an Associate Degree in Office Administration. Giffer works to ensure our courses run at peak efficiency and effectively liases with clients to assist with recertification. Giffer has quickly become a valued member of the Training Team.

Carolanne Babuik

Carolanne has been a First Aid Instructor since 1988. Her experience has included working for the Red Cross, St. Johns Ambulance and the Lifesaving Society at an Instructor level. With the Canadian Red Cross, she is not only a First Aid & CPR/AED Instructor Trainer but also a First Responder and EMR Instructor Trainer. Carolanne is responsible for training our new instructors and for ensuring that our customers receive the high quality of training that F.A.S.T. Rescue has always been for.Carolanne has worked with F.A.S.T. Rescue since its inception and is an invaluable resource for our Training Department as well as our instructors.

Kirsten Weldon

Kirsten has been teaching First Aid & CPR since 2005. What started out as a part time time job has become a full time passion for her. She has quite a varied background ... having worked for the school board and she's driven a tractor trailer. But now she has found her calling in teaching people first aid and CPR and she has lots of fun doing it! Kirsten is a Supervising Instructor and an Instructor Trainer for F.A.S.T. Rescue as well as an instructor for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Franz McFayden

Franz is a supervising instructor and instructor trainer for F.A.S.T Rescue. In addition, Franz is WSIB and Heart & Stroke Foundation Instructor for Lifesaver 101. Interestingly he also has a background in law. He has a thorough understanding of human kinetics, having experience working as a personal trainer, as well as coaching and competing in various international level recreational activities including swimming, karate, squash and volleyball. Franz’s diverse background and knowledge make him an asset to the F.A.S.T Rescue team, where he excels in providing WSIB guidance and First Aid instruction.

Barney Chanda

Barney brings a wealth of experience in the aquatics industry to the F.A.S.T Rescue team. Combined with his extensive First Aid and Safety knowledge, Barney is able to effectively teach a wide variety of programs. He holds numerous certifications from the Red Cross, Lifesaving Soceity and Heart and Stroke Foundation, as well as the High Five and Quest Trainer Certifications. He is qualified to instruct many programs including First Aid, Water Safety and Emergency Medical Responder courses. His knowledge of municipal aquatic programs and development, and his High Five Certification, allow him to work with diverse clientele to deliver effective instruction in First Aid, CPR-C, CPR-HCP, AED, Emergency Medical Responder, and the AquaSquirt synchro swim program.

Shaela Turner-Weijers

Shaela is a dedicated First Aid Instructor who has been part of the F.A.S.T Rescue team since 2009. She is a dedicated and knowledgeable team member who is actively involved in the community through her volunteer work. She has experience training and mentoring First Aid and CPR Instructors, as well as facilitating and training large groups and corporate clients. In addition to her Red Cross First Aid and CPR Trainer Certifications, she has earned certifications in Marketing and Nutrition as well as English and Psychology. Shaela is a well-rounded and knowledgeable instructor who works hard to surpass customer service expectations.

Dave Wood
Safety Supplies

Dave has been instrumental in making the F.A.S.T. Rescue warehouse management clean and efficient. He uses his vast experience from his years in Inventory Control, Shipping & Receiving to keep our warehouse running smoothly. His knowledge and experience ensures that we not only meet but exceed our customers' expectations.

Tony Waite
Health & Safety Consulting

A driven leader, Tony has extensive experience within health and safety/claims management, including accident reconstruction, training behavioural based safety, ergonomic assessments, compliance auditing, claims management (occupational/STD/LTD), RTW, project management, program administration and policy development. Tony believes strongly in the importance of continuous learning and has completed several additional courses and certifications that compliment his Bachelors Degree in Medical Anthropology, including his Industrial Ergonomic Evaluator Certification.
