We are pleased to announce that we are a CPO Approved Training Provider, approved to deliver the ‘Working at Heights’ program. Our program has been reviewed and approved by CPO Approved.
This approval means F.A.S.T Rescue is able to provide both new applicants courses and previous applicants refresher courses, both of which must be delivered in person.
It is vital for companies to make sure that certain workers complete a ‘Working at Heights’ OHSA program, approved by the Chief Prevention Officer and delivered by an approved training partner.
The ‘Working at Heights’ training is a requirement for construction workers on projects that use any of these methods of fall prevention or protection: fall arrest systems, work or safety belts, safety nets, fall restricting systems or travel restraint systems.
‘Working at Heights’ (WAH) is a training requirement in the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation and WAH is supplementary to the training requirements listed under the Construction Regulation.
The ‘Working at Heights’ program is split into two modules, Basic Theory, followed by a Practical.
- Understanding the right and responsibilities involved in working at heights
- Identifying hazards of working at heights
- Knowing the hierarchy of limitations and controls of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Physical barriers and warning methods
- Ladder Safety
- Basic Introduction to Personal Protective Equipment
- Fixed equipment and barriers
- Fall Personal Protective Equipment (fall restricting, travel restraint, fall arrest systems)
- Anchor points
- Rescue planning
- Work access equipment and platforms
